A POS terminal is an electronic device used by merchants to obtain authorization for card transactions. The POS terminals may be connected to BDO in different ways. It could be through dial up (using a telephone line); wireless and/or mobile terminals (using GPRS technology, no telephone line needed), or through a Local Area Network (LAN for merchant with multiple terminals).
